Getting Here

Location

Kings Creek can be reached from a number of roads. Travelling from Alice Springs you have 3 options. You can travel via the Mereenie Loop Road, the Ernest Giles Road (both dirt and approximately 300kms from Alice Springs), or the Luritja Road via Lasseter Highway (sealed and 450kms from Alice Springs).

If travelling from Uluru (Ayers Rock) or Erldunda on the Lasseter Highway the turn off is at the Luritja junction. Distance from Uluru (Ayers Rock) is 300kms.
Before travelling on the dirt roads it is highly recommended to check the conditions of the roads before your journey.

Phone Reception

Taking your phone travelling? Mobile phone (cell) coverage is available in most of the Northern Territory’s population centres. Please note that large areas of outback Northern Territory are without network coverage. Before you leave, please check with your mobile phone provider if you need to stay in touch. Kings Creek Station only has very limited mobile phone coverage for Optus and Telstra near the main entrance.

ROAD CONDITIONS

Airstrip

Kings Creek Station has a formed airstrip, suitable for small and medium aircrafts, and is the only emergency airstrip in the area. Transfers to and from the airstrip can be arranged by calling +61 8 8956 2345.

Airstrip Costs:

$75 Landing Fee (incl. GST)
Landing fee is payable on arrival to Kings Creek Station.
Prior landing permission must be obtained from Kings Creek Station by calling +61 8 8956 7474

Kings Creek Station Airstrip is suitable for small and medium aircrafts.
For visitors wishing to know the location of the airstrip the details are as follows:-
